The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recently released a consensus report on Nutrition Therapy for Adults With Diabetes or Prediabetes.
Among the key findings and recommendations, the report says that nutrition therapy can:
- Lower hemoglobin A1C in type 2 diabetics as successfully – or more successfully – than medications.
- Prevent or manage diabetes complications, such as gastroparesis, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease.
- Be an imperative and lifelong component of care for people living with type 2 diabetes
